Dave is a native of Cherokee, Iowa and a resident of Des Moines, Iowa.  He established the predecessor of Nelson Equity Development, LC in 1978. He had previously been involved in financial and general management of a startup agribusiness enterprise and a manufacturing company which had been financially stressed but had become the “best managed company in the state of Iowa” according to the company’s banker by the end of Dave’s tenure there. He holds the AB and MBA degrees from Harvard and is an Iowa-licensed real estate broker.
